Common paintbrush
Arch Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2009;135(10):962.
Douglas Dart, MD, Boulder, Colorado. "Taken in May 2008 near Boulder, Utah, this photograph is of a common paintbrush (Castilleja chromosa) taken in the slickrock country found throughout much of the rugged canyons and deserts of the Colorado Plateau. Boulder, Utah (few people, mostly cows), is on the northern edge of the 133 000-square-mile Colorado Plateau (the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell are the best-known landmarks). It has a 5-star restaurant called Hell's Backbone, named for the very exposed and windy road nearby and is a great place to start an adventure."
